Learn to Game Bird Hunt

2019 YOUTH! Pheasant Hunt - Ontario

Hunters age 17 years and younger are eligible to participate while accompanied by an adult 21 years or older, who may not hunt. The supervising adult may not accompany more than one youth hunter. All participants must attend a safety briefing.

Each youth must have in possession:   

  •  A Hunter Education Certificate (or a dept issued document [ex. Hunting license] which includes their Hunter Ed number.
  • Permit for the hunt area (if required)
  • Hunters 12 years or older must have a valid hunting license with an upland game bird validation
  • 20 hunters can be in the field hunting at one time. First come, first serve
  • A blaze orange hat, shooting glasses (eye protection) and vest must be worn by all participants, including adults. Each event location will provide these items.
  • Check in starts at 8:00am (MST), hunt begins at 9:00am (MST)

Location: Skyline Parcel, Ontario City property. Check in at the end of Heinz Blvd at the Skyline Parcel kiosk.

Login into the youth license account and go to "purchase from the catalog" box. Youth Pheasant Hunts are listed for registration under the Classes/Workshops tab, then the Outdoor Skills tab. Each location has various opportunities to hunt, register (add to the cart) for the hunt day and time that is preferred. Please provide an email address in the account as ODFW staff Youth Hunt Coordinators will want to send reminders and possibly maps, etc.
