Learn to Fish - Adult Beginner Fly Fishing Clinic - THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED


If you have ever considered learning how to fly-fish but didn’t know where to start, this clinic is for you.  This clinic is intended for adults who want to learn fly-fishing basics. ODFW partners with top notch fly-fishermen to provide you with an exciting opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge necessary for fly-fishing.  ODFW will supply all necessary equipment for this hands-on fishing workshop.

Designed for beginner-level adults, participants will be learning all the fishing tactics and techniques necessary to break into the world of fly-fishing. In addition to having access to an extremely exclusive pond for the duration of the workshop, you will get to feel what it is like to hook and fight a fish!

Participants will learn to:

  • Select the proper gear
  • Tie necessary knots
  • Read the water
  • Cast using multiple techniques
  • Identify hatch timing and choosing the proper flies
  • Fight and land a fish
  • Proper fish handling

Lunch will not be included.

Participant Requirements:

In addition to the course fee, you must purchase an Oregon fishing license:

  • Annual Angling License
    • Resident $44.00
    • Nonresident $110.50
  • Daily/multi-day licenses
    • One Day Angling: Resident/Nonresident $23.00
    • Two Day Angling: Resident/Nonresident $42.00
    • Three Day Angling: Resident/Nonresident $59.50
  • Note: You do not need the Columbia River Endorsement to attend this event
