Learn to Hunt - Basic Shotgun Skills - Bend

Do you have an interest in learning how to shoot shotguns for hunting or target shooting? This workshop provides participants the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills for safe and proper shotgun handling and increases proficiency of shooting moving targets through hands-on learning.

*This class is a pre-requisite of the pheasant, waterfowl, and small game workshops.

Shotguns, ammunition, safety glasses and ear protection will be provided by ODFW for this course. Sunglasses must be safety rated to work on the range.

Participants will need to dress appropriately for the weather and should wear sturdy, close-toed footwear. During COVID restrictions participants and Instructors will be required to wear a mask, please bring your own.

Participants need to bring their own lunch and snacks and note taking material. Water will be provided. This workshop is designed for adults, but youth who have the physical ability to safely handle and fire shotguns and the maturity to sit through the entire workshop without becoming a distraction are welcome to attend and register pending space. Youth 17 and younger must be accompanied by a registered adult and also be certified in Hunter Education. (E-mail organizer to see if there is space).

Please be on the look out for a confirmation letter with additional information on what to bring for the workshop. This will be sent out approximately 5-8 days prior to the workshop and will be sent via e-mail.
