Do you want to learn how to shoot shotguns for hunting or target shooting? In this hands-on, beginner-level workshop, participants will learn shotgun safety and wingshooting fundamentals so that they can hit moving targets with confidence.
This class is a pre-requisite for ODFW pheasant, waterfowl, and small game workshops offered this fall and winter.
Shotguns and ammunition for this course will be provided by ODFW. You can bring your own shotgun, but if you do must provide your own ammunition. Steel 7.5 shot required.
Dress appropriately for the weather.
Bring a lunch, snacks and note taking material. Water will be provided
This workshop is designed for adults, but youth who have the maturity and strength to shoot shotguns all day are welcome to attend. Youth 17 and younger must be accompanied by a registered adult. To register a youth, contact ODFW event organizer.
Please be on the lookout for a confirmation letter and tips on what to bring for the workshop. This letter will be e-mailed 5-8 days before the workshop.
Special Instructions: Please note that a Wildlife Area parking permit is required to park at EE Wilson. Parking permits are free with the purchase of any hunting license and can be purchased separately as well from those vendors. Regardless, please make sure to have the parking permit with you when you get to the Wildlife Area as they are not sold on site.
