Surf Perch Workshop Cape Lookout - WORKSHOP IS FULL

Participants, 14 and older, will learn the basics of Surf Perch fishing from Volunteer Instructors that have a passion for marine fishing. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is partnering with the Tualatin Valley Chapter of NW Steelheaders to provide this educational opportunity.

Workshop topics include:

Water Safety, equipment, tackle and bait selection, locating habitat & fish Biology, and Surf Perch fishing technique.

Oregon State Parks charge a day use parking fee of $5 per day. Participants will have to pay the $5 fee the day of the workshop.

Cape Lookout State Park - Oregon State Parks and Recreation

Participants will need a valid Oregon fishing license to participate in the workshop. ODFW will have equipment available for use during the workshop for participants; However, folks are welcome to bring their own gear too. Please dress for the weather and wear footwear appropriate for the wet and sandy conditions.

Recommended gear: water bottle, dressing in layers, waders, sunscreen, sunglasses, rain gear, gloves, snacks.
