Youth Turkey Clinic - Denman Wildlife Area, Central Point
The clinic is being hosted by the Oregon Hunters Association (OHA) in partnership with ODFW. Prizes for youth participants provided by OHA. Registration is free.
Welcome to the Free turkey hunting clinic to be held on Saturday, April 3rd at the Central Point office of the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. Interested attendees can sign up for a morning session from 8:00 AM -12:00 PM, or an afternoon session from 1:00 PM -5:00 PM. The clinic is open to youth age 8 to 17. Space is limited and registration closes April 1.
ODFW staff and other experienced hunters will discuss turkey biology, Oregon’s turkey hunting opportunities, turkey identification, behavior, sign identification, scouting techniques, and hunting tactics. Attendees will leave with the basic skills and some equipment to get them started on the path towards safe and successful turkey hunting.
The clinic has been designed to limit the spread of COVID 19 by following all Oregon Health Authority guidelines for Jackson County. Each session will be held outside, and is limited to 20 registered participants. Participants should plan to be accompanied by only one adult. Masks and/or social distancing of 6’ will be required. Despite these constraints ODFW and OHA are happy to offer this event again this year, and we are looking forward to passing on some knowledge and skills to a new generation of Oregon Hunters.
