Create a VEM System account

ODFW's Volunteer and Event Management (VEM) System makes it easier to find and register for volunteer and educational opportunities.

Go directly to VEM

You'll want a VEM Account to take online Hunter and Bowhunter Education course and to become an ODFW Volunteer. Later this year, you'll be able to use your VEM account to register and pay for ODFW's workshops and events. ‌

Create an account, 12 and younger

Your parent or guardian will need to create an account on your behalf. To get started, ask you parent or guardian to set up their own VEM Account. They can then become an account leader and create a member account for you. ‌

Create an account, 13 and older

1. Navigate to VEM.myodfw.com and click on the Account button and then Create Account.‌

*** A UNIQUE EMAIL ADDRESS is required to create a new account.***

The verification link will be automatically emailed to you. Open the e-mail, click the verification link provided and login to your VEM account. ‌

  • Your verification link is valid for only 15 minutes before it expires. If it has expired, you'll need to go to the account login page and click Forgot Password, which will email you a link to set a new password and complete your account setup.

Your account set up is now complete! ‌

Become an Account Leader and manage relationships

If you're 18 or older with a VEM Account, you can set up and manage accounts for family and friends. Each account creates a Member Account where you are the leader. As a leader, you can register Members for ODFW workshops and events, update profiles, and receive notifications. Members must complete their own volunteer and onboarding, but once done, leaders can sign them up for volunteer events. ‌

To create a Member account for a child 12 or younger, you must be their parent or legal guardian. You can choose whether to let your child to have direct access to their account. ‌

When you set up a Member Account for family or friend older then 13, the Member will have account credentials to let them log in and make changes to their account. Members 18 and older may unlink you as a leader and take over management of their account at any time.

5. Determine if you want to let your child log into their account and make changes. This is a check box option. ‌

  • Checked – When checked, they system will ask you if you want to provide an e-mail address for your child. Note that providing an e-mail address for your child is also optional but encouraged as e-mail is ODFW's primary communication method regarding workshops, events and volunteer opportunities. If provided, the e-mail address must be unique.
    • Yes, Email – Enter your child's e-mail address. Upon account creation, your child will receive an e-mail notification allowing them set up a password and access their account.
    • No, Email – Create a non-email username and set up a password for your child.  Your child will need that username and password in order for them to log in and access their account.
  • Unchecked – By leaving the box unchecked, your child will not be able to access their own account. Account changes will need to be made by you, the parent/guardian.
