Southwest Area
Hunting opportunities abound in the densely forested southwest corner of Oregon. From the beautiful, ragged coastline through the Siskiyou Mountains to Crater Lake National Park, there is something for every game bird hunter.
Southwest Oregon is a gem of upland and waterfowl hunting opportunities. Less populated than other reaches of the state, it's easy to get away from it all. With extensive oak savannas, this is some of Oregon's best turkey habitat. In the densely forested Siskiyou and Cascade ranges, ruffed grouse and mountain quail can be found along the many miles of gravel roads. The south coast also has a special goose season for hunting on private lands -- remember to always ask for permission before hunting on private land.
Southwest Oregon is a checker board of private and public land. Access can be found through various open lands projects, state wildlife areas, federal wildlife refuges and national forests.
