Kokanee Power Oregon (KPO) Green Peter Kids' Fishing Event and BBQ - Foster Resevoir

Join us for the 2nd Annual Kokanee Power of Oregon (KPO) Green Peter Kids’ Fishing Event and BBQ!

There will be trophies for biggest fish, smallest fish, and best lure for ages 3-6, 7-10, 11-14, and 15-18. Lunch for kids is free, $10 for adult KPO members, and $15 for KPO non-members to help cover the cost of food. If you have some extra gear in your tackle box you are welcome to donate it for prizes to kids. ODFW Angler Education will be hosting educational stations in support of this event, including care-of-your-catch and knot-tying and rigging, and will be assisting the public with all questions related to kokanee fishing and targeting kokanee.

Fishing: 1 hour before sunrise to 1:00.

Weigh-in opens at 1:00 and closes at 2:00 sharp

Lunch: 2:00 PM

Each participant MUST have:

  • Watercraft (canoe, kayak, boat) and appropriate safety gear if they wish to fish offshore for kokanee.
  • Appropriate clothing and footwear. This is an outdoor event. Oregon weather can be unpredictable, so please dress accordingly!
  • If you are 12 or older, a valid angling license is required.

Please note: this is NOT a typical ODFW workshop. This event is sponsored by KPO and participants are required to bring their own gear, safety equipment, and watercraft if they wish to fish for kokanee offshore. ODFW staff will be present to assist participants and answer general questions.
