Learn to Hunt - Adult Dove Hunting Workshop - La Grande

This 2-day ODFW workshop is intended for adults who want to start dove hunting.

Day 1: Dove Hunting 101 and shotgun skills; a classroom lecture on dove regulations, how to find a place to hunt, techniques and equipment. The second half of the day will be a shotgun skills class. Day 1 La Grande Gun Club MAP to gun range

Day 2: Mentored Dove Hunt; this is a live mentored dove hunt where participants will put everything learned on day 1 into action in the field. Mentors will lead hunting groups through the wildlife area, cover safety consideration, and apply techniques to bag some birds. During the hunt, the mentors will pass on their knowledge so that participants walk away from the workshop with the skills and knowledge to successfully enter the field and hunt on their own. Day 2 Ladd Marsh Wildlife Area MAP to Hunting area

What we provide:

• All hunting equipment
• Shotgun / ammo*

What you need to bring:

• Valid hunting license
• Hip Validation
• Proper clothing for Oregon seasonal weather
• Lunch/snacks & water

*You may bring your own equipment. If you bring your own shotgun, you much bring your own target (7 shot or smaller) and non-lead dove hunting ammo (5, 6, or 7 shot) for each day. Your shotgun will be inspected by ODFW staff before the shotgun skill class.

3. Login with your information if you already have an account.

4. If you have never logged in, use Verify/Look Up to find your account if you've had a hunting or fishing license or signed up for any of our programs in the past. If you are a new ODFW customer, use Create an Account.

5. After you have logged in, click "Purchase from the Catalog."

6. Scroll down to Class/Workshop. Click "View All."

7. Scroll down until you see the workshop title.

8. Click "Add."

9. If you are done with your purchase, click "Proceed to Checkout" to complete your purchase. All registrants will receive a confirmation letter, via e-mail, approximately one week prior to the workshop that includes additional information on what to bring for the workshop
