Commission meets online May 15 to hear about budget development process

SALEM, Ore.—The Commission will meet Friday, May 15 from 8:30-10:00 a.m. to hear an informational overview of the 2027-29 budget development process. Following the presentation, Commissioners will have time to ask questions of ODFW staff and discuss next steps in the process.

No public testimony will be taken during the meeting as the agenda item is informational only. The Commission is expected to vote on the agency's budget proposal at its June 26 meeting in La Grande.
In Oregon, state agency budgets are developed every two years. The two-year budget period begins on July 1 of odd-numbered years and concludes on June 30 of the next odd-numbered year. State agencies submit their budget requests to the Governor who creates a Recommended Budget for consideration by the Oregon legislature.
An Executive Session may also be held pursuant to ORS 192.660(2)(f) to consider information or records that are exempt by law from public inspection, as well as to consult with legal counsel concerning legal rights and duties of a public body with regard to current litigation or litigation likely to be filed as authorized by ORS 192.660(2)(h).
