Seasons

With dove and quail seasons beginning Sept. 1, some waterfowl seasons extending through January, and spring turkey available through the end of May, game bird hunting in Oregon is almost (but not quite) a year-round activity.

1 It is unlawful to obtain and possess more than two 2023 fall turkey tags, of which only one can be a General Eastern Oregon Fall Turkey Tag.
2 From Dec. 1 - Jan. 31, 2023 hunting is allowed only on private lands by permission. Private lands are any lands not owned or controlled by any state, county, or federal agency.
3 All allotted and/or tribal lands inside the exterior boundary of the Umatilla Indian Reservation are not open to hunting (see map).
4 Each turkey tag allows the harvest of one bird.

2025 Spring Youth Turkey Hunt⁶
