Fishing the Columbia & Willamette Rivers: Safety & ODFW Sport Fishing Regs Seminar - Portland

This workshop is designed for anglers of all skill levels who fish (or want to fish) for salmon on the Columbia River from St. Helens to Bonneville Dam, including the mouth of the Willamette River in the Portland area. ODFW Angler Education partners with Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife Agency and Multnomah County Sheriff's River Patrol Division to bring information and transparency on navigating the various informational avenues surrounding the Columbia and Willamette River salmon fishery. There will also be a professional fishing guide guest speaker to teach effective salmon fishing styles and techniques. ‌

Topics Covered:‌

  • How to navigate the Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations
  • How to access regulations updates and receive action notices
  • Operating a boat safely on the river
  • Common fish and wildlife violations
  • Salmon fishing equipment, techniques, and styles

All participants of this workshop will be entered to win a salmon fishing rod/reel, which will be raffled off at the end of this event. Must be registered and present for the entirety of this event to win. ‌

Snacks and coffee will be provided, but please bring your own lunch. ‌

Youth (aged 17 years and younger) are eligible to participate while accompanied by an adult 21 years or older.
