Learn to fish - Introduction to fly-fishing - Camp Sherman

This workshop is for beginner-level adults, who want to learn tactics and techniques necessary to break into the world of fly-fishing. ODFW partners with top notch fly-anglers to provide this on the water learning opportunity. All necessary equipment for this hands-on fly-fishing workshop is provided. This workshop takes places at an extremely exclusive pond, providing a great opportunity to catch some trophy trout!

• Basic fly-fishing knots
• How to read the water
• Variety of fly-fishing methods
• Casting techniques
• Match the hatch: bug and fly identification
• Fighting and landing fish
• Proper fish handling

Participant Requirements:
Please bring appropriate clothing for Oregon weather, closed-toed shoes, LUNCH, snacks, and water. You may bring your own fly fishing setup if you wish but ODFW provides all equipment.
In addition to the course fee, you must purchase an Oregon fishing license: https://myodfw.com/fishing/licensing-info

HOW TO REGISTER AND SIGN-UP:
1. Click the “Register Now” button below.
2. You will be directed to the ODFW Electronic Licensing System Login Page https://odfw.huntfishoregon.com/login.
3. Login with your information if you already have an account.
4. If you have never logged in, use Verify/Look Up to find your account if you have had a hunting or fishing license or signed up for any of our programs in the past. If you are a new ODFW customer, use Create an Account.
5. After you have logged in, click “Purchase from the Catalog.”
6. Scroll down to Class/Workshop. Click “View All.”
7. Scroll down until you see the workshop title.
8. Click “Add.”
9. If you are done with your purchase, click “Proceed to Checkout” to complete your purchase.
