
Learn to Fish - Ice Fishing Workshop - Lake of the Woods Klamath Falls - EVENT IS FULL
THIS WORKSHOP IS FULL
This course will give you all the knowledge you need to fish on the ice, from how to start, where to go, how to read the ice, what gear to get and how to use it, and how to process your catch. Fishing techniques will focus on targeting yellow perch.
We have all the equipment you need, but if you have your own fishing equipment you are welcome to bring it and we can show you how to use it. Breakfast snacks and lunch is provided.
Sign-in begins at 7:00 AM on Saturday, February 19. ODFW staff will be available again on Sunday, February 20 from 7:00 AM until 12:00 PM if participants wish to continue developing their ice fishing skills, however this is an optional day and meals will not be provided. Lodging is not included and is the responsibility of class participants.
What is not provided:
Lodging is not provided but available at Lake of the Woods Resort and they can be contacted at 541-949-8300. Lodging is also available in Medford and Klamath Falls.
Appropriate clothing and a cooler if you would like to keep fish (a bucket will be given to each participant to carry fish and gear on the ice but may not be the best method of transporting fish home). A detailed email of the plan of the day and further instructions will be provided after registration.
All participants 17 and younger must be accompanied by a registered adult 21 years or older.
PLEASE NOTE: this workshop is dependent on ice conditions. If for any reason it is unsafe to conduct this workshop, each participant will be notified ASAP and refunded their participation fee if attending an alternative date is not feasible.
February 19-20 2022 falls on a Free Fishing Weekend in Oregon. An angling license is not required to fish during these two days of this workshop.
