Youth 8-17, and their families, can learn how to safely and successfully hunt turkeys during this clinic sponsored by Oregon Hunters Association, Celilo Bowmen and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.
Wild turkey hunting can be a great way to introduce your child to hunting—not to mention it’s a lot of fun! This youth and family clinic will teach the family everything from safely shooting a shotgun and bow, to calling techniques, turkey identification, scouting and turkey biology.
Lunch will be provided and there will be raffles at the end of the event.
Pre-registration is required. Your registration fee is non-refundable. Youth ages 8 - 17 must be accompanied by an adult. A hunter education card is not required to attend this event.
Each vehicle at the event needs a Wildlife Area Parking Pass. These will not be available for purchase at the venue and need to be purchased prior to the date of the event. (They come free with the purchase of a hunting license.) Overnight camping is available before and after the event. Wildlife Area Parking Permits Required. Questions regarding the White River Wildlife area can call Chase Brown 541-544-2126.
Also, make sure to follow the location link to get to the correct location at White River Wildlife Area. If you type in White River Wildlife Area it takes you to the office, which is not where the event will be held and there is limited to no cell service out there. https://goo.gl/maps/Cb1AeTkDCpk
