Mentored Pheasant Hunt Workshop - Monmouth

This 2-day ODFW workshop is intended for adults who want to start pheasant hunting. ‌

Day 1 Pheasant Hunting 101 and shotgun skills; a classroom lecture on Game Bird regulations, how to find a place to hunt, techniques and equipment. The second half of the day will be a shotgun skills class on the range. ‌

Day 2 Mentored Pheasant Hunt; this is a live mentored pheasant hunt where participants will put everything learned on day 1 into action in the field. Mentors and Dog Handlers will lead hunting groups through the wildlife area, cover safety consideration, and apply techniques to bag some birds. During the hunt, the mentors will pass on their knowledge so that participants walk away from the workshop with the skills and knowledge to successfully enter the field and hunt on their own.‌

What to bring‌

• Valid Hunting License
• Upland Game Bird Validation
• Dress for Oregon weather as if you are going hunting
• Bring your own snacks, lunch, and water. 
• Registration is now open, but space is limited so sign up soon. This workshop is designed for adults aged 18 and older.

*You may bring your own equipment. If you bring your own shotgun, you must bring non-lead hunting ammo for each day. Your shotgun will be inspected by ODFW staff before the shotgun skills class. ‌

HOW TO REGISTER AND SIGN-UP:

3. Login with your information if you already have an account.
4. If you have never logged in, use Verify/Look Up to find your account if you've had a hunting or fishing license or signed up for any of our programs in the past. If you are a new ODFW customer, use Create an Account.
5. After you have logged in, click "Purchase from the Catalog."
6. Enter class title in search bar or scroll down to Class/Workshop. Click "View All."
7. Scroll down until you see the workshop title.
8. Click "Add."
9. If you are done with your purchase, click "Proceed to Checkout" to complete your purchase.

All registrants will receive a confirmation letter, via e-mail, approximately one week prior to the workshop that includes additional information on what to bring for the workshop. ‌
