How to buy a license or tag

There are two ways to purchase licenses, tags, permits or other documents:

Buy license/tags online

Great for people who want to buy at home - able to carry paper or display documents through app on smartphone

• Verify your ODFW account, or if new-create an account by choosing “I am a new customer…” on MyODFW.com BUY LICENSE. Check the FAQs to see which applies to you.
• After you establish your account at MyODFW.com, enter your username and password on the MyODFW app (which can be downloaded from the Apple itunes app store or Google Play store). The app is required if you choose to display valid documents electronically when in the field while hunting and fishing.
• Purchase your licenses and tags via MyODFW.com BUY LICENSE.
• Follow the screen prompts to print paper documents, or if you choose electronic documents, verify the documents you bought are listed in the MyODFW app. (You may need to refresh the screen).

* Wildlife Area Parking Permits: Print permit copy after purchase or write your ODFW ID# (or transaction number if you are a guest) on a piece of paper and display it on the vehicle dash.

Visit an ODFW office or licensed vendor

Great for people who want to buy local - able to carry paper or display documents through app on smartphone

• Check the MyODFW.com website for a list of active agents.
• or, go to an ODFW office that sells licenses.
• Be patient while the vendor verifies or creates your ODFW account.
• Helpful remember to bring your old license with your hunter/angler ID number. If you don’t have your hunter/angler ID, the vendor will need your last name and date of birth.

How to redeem Sports Pac voucher

When you purchase a Sports Pac it includes vouchers for big game tags. Choose your hunt type and before the tag sale deadline, you must redeem the vouchers for actual hunting tags. See the video below for how to redeem voucher online, or redeem voucher at an ODFW office or licensed vendor.

How to buy or redeem tag after sale deadline

Most big game hunters must purchase tag or redeem their voucher no later than the day before the hunt begins. (Check Oregon Big Game regulations for specific dates).

ODFW commission created an exception to this rule to help hunters who forgot about the deadline or couldn’t get their tag on time. It requires hunters to attest / sign an affidavit stating that they did NOT attempt to hunt yet. Hunters must also pay an exception fee of $25.50 along with regular cost of tag.

After-the-deadline tag sales can be purchased online through the hunter’s account or at a license sales agent. Add the tag to your cart and you will be prompted to attest that you did not hunt and the fee will be added to your cart.
