The E.E. Wilson Wildlife Area came into existence in 1950 when the U.S. Government gave quitclaim title to the property to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. The wildlife area covers approximately 1,788 acres, is located on Highway 99W about 10 miles north of Corvallis and is situated on the Willamette Valley floor. The E.E. Wilson fishing pond parking lot will be closed for three weeks for improvements beginning Wednesday, Dec. 11. The parking lot will reopen after Jan. 4, 2025. The North Nehalem Fish Hatchery was originally constructed in 1966. The hatchery replaced the Foley Creek Hatchery which was constructed in 1926. The facility is used for adult collection, spawning, egg incubation and rearing of fall Chinook, coho, winter steelhead and rainbow trout.



The Landowner Preference Program (LOP) was established to acknowledge the contribution of private lands to support wildlife and provide a form of compensation to landowners for resources used by wildlife. Tags are available to landowners, family members, and others designated by the landowner based on the acreage owned. Pronghorn hunts are only available to landowners and family members. Recipients of LOP tags may only hunt on the property for which they are registered.
