One of ODFW’s newest wildlife areas, the Minam River WA harbors a wide variety of fish, wildlife and their habitats. Anglers can enjoy trout and mountain whitefish fishing, hunters can target deer and elk, and hikers can follow the Minam River Trail to the Eagle Cap Wilderness.

Best bets for weekend fishing Kokanee fishing at Wallowa Lake can be good throughout the spring. Wallowa County ponds have been stocked with rainbow trout. Fishing for holdover trout at Aldrich Ponds can be very good this time of year. Magone Lake can be a hot spot for early spring trout fishing.
