These clinics introduce youth ages 8–17 to spring turkey hunting in a supportive, hands-on learning environment designed for both new and developing hunters. Participants will learn safe, ethical, and effective turkey hunting techniques, while gaining practical skills they can build on in future seasons. Please note: No hunting will take place during these clinics, hunting license and hunter education card is not required to attend.

They will raft up out in the middle of most local estuaries on calm days but will move around with the incoming tide and on windy days. NW Fishing February 19, 2026 Best bets for weekend fishing Winter steelhead fishing remains fair on the North Coast. The Nestucca River, Wilson, and North Fork Nehalem Rivers will provide the best opportunity to catch hatchery steelhead. The Wilson and Nestucca have both picked up a little following last weekend's rain and have some fresh fish showing up. The North Fork Nehalem continues to get hatchery steelhead back and recycled 300 last week for additional angler opportunity. NE WILDLIFE VIEWING February 19, 2026 Baker County Bighorn sheep can be seen in the Burnt River Canyon west of Durkee or along the Snake River Road south of Richland. The best viewing is in the early morning and late in the evening. Take the Snake River Road between Richland and Huntington to see bald and golden eagles along the Snake River. You can find mule deer transitioning from high elevation summer feeding areas to the lower elevation sagebrush and agricultural areas. There are red-tailed, rough-legged and ferruginous hawks, northern harriers, American kestrels, prairie falcons and golden eagles throughout Crook County and they're usually associated more closely with open/agricultural areas. Bald eagles and ospreys, on the other hand, are more closely associated with water bodies.
