Ask 10 anglers how to fish and you’re likely to get 10 different answers. However, there are a few types of fishing rigs that almost everyone can agree on – they’re both simple and effective. Here are 16 of some of our favorite rigs for warmwater species.

Razor clams, bay clams, mussels and oysters are filter feeders. They feed on microscopic plants called phytoplankton that naturally occur in ocean and coastal waters. Some types of phytoplankton produce natural toxins. When shellfish feed on these organisms, the toxins are stored in their flesh, yet the shellfish is not affected. But people who eat contaminated shellfish can become seriously ill.
